After 70 meetings and over 9 years it’s time we begin…
Greetings PyWeb-IL members and hackers at large. We’re joining the Aaron Swartz International Hackathon in 2.5 weeks, on Saturday the 4/11. We’ll be contributing to SecureDrop (github), a flask-based open source project that secures communications between newspapers and whistle blowers. Today the project is maintained by the “Freedom of the Press Foundation” and is quite active – used by 35 organizations world wide, including: The New York Times, The Guardian, Washington Post HuffPost (None in Israel…. yet). The project includes decent docs and vagrant based environments. Please RSVP over at meetup: https://www.meetup.com/PyWeb-IL/events/244147393 or just show up with your laptop.
We have a location!!! Lool venture agreed to host us at Tushiya 2 Tel Aviv. I love the place – Haasdna had a hackathon there just before the 2015 election and it was perfect (photos).
Lool has a nice roof and weather permitting, we’ll have DIY activities for kids.
Thanks to Shai & Tomer and the smashing success of PyConIL, we have a sponsor – Hamakor – so we’ll have money to
buy ג׳חנון for breakfest, pizza for lunch and Beer all day long.
See you there!
Benny
PS – please RSVP so I won’t order too many ג׳חנונים
